The Faroese Clarinet Choir

The Faroese Clarinet Choir, FCC, is still in the making. The present 16-20 members of the ensemble are all students from Føroya Musikkskúli, aged 12-17. On the long view FCC
addresses itself to clarinet players both inside and outside the music school framework, to children, young people and adults on a nationwide basis on the Faroe Islands. FCC has during its short life-time played at a number of events all over the country, and it travels with a programme, composed of Scandinavian folk music, classical music, jazz and light music. A rhythm section from Bergen Kulturskole will play with FCC at ISME 2002.

Initiator and leader of FCC is Peder Riis-Jensen, graduated from the Carl Nielsen Academy
in Odense (DK), for more 20 years clarinet teacher in Denmark, since 1999 full-time
clarinet teacher in Føroya Musikkskúli.
