MusIT - Bergen Art School

The project is initiated and lead by Musit as; Music Interactive Technology. Musit is a norwegian company designing and developing programs and systems for music making, music communication and music teaching.

Students from Bergen Art School will recieve a music-file via Internet, made by dj Bjørn Torske / Røyksopp. There will be two groups of students. Group 1 will compose their own music, based on this file. They will play on traditional instruments in the Grieghallen studio, and record and communicate the music to their teacher and fellow-students, via Internet. Group 2 will manipulate the other students recorded music, with the help of computers, to make it fit in with what they want to present. They will send it via Internet, back to Group 1 again, who will add new traditional music to the manipulated music. etc. The result will be presentet on www.musit.no The ISME participants may visit the Grieghallen studios during the Conference to see how the students works, and how they communicate music in a new way.
