Curriculum Vitae

Means  ”the course of one’s life “

I have a MSc in applied mathematics and Diploma of Education and my research field is ocean acoustics. (picture1,picture2, picture3)

I was granted a PhD scholarship at Nansen Environmental research Centre in 1996. I worked then part time at Bergen University College.

After the first year of my teaching carrier, I was offered a teaching/research position at Engineering Faculty. I love teaching and

I believe it is possible to make mathematics interesting and easier to understand by practical examples from our daily life. I have written some reports to explain this issue.

I was rewarded the prise of “lecturer of the year” in 1998/1999 by the students. In 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 was rewarded the diploma of the second best lecturer of the year.

I travel often and have been in Denmark(10 times), Sweden (9 times), London (8times), Sydney(4 times), Nederland(4 times), Crete(twice), Valencia (twice), Barcelona(twice), Germany(twice), Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, France (Paris, Lyon) . Most of all I love Island of Crete and Kiama area in New South Wales.

I was guest researcher at Institute of Applied mathematics, University of Crete, Greece (June 1996, 3 months) and have also been guest lecturer at applied mathematics department, University of Valencia, Spain twice (October 2001, 3 weeks , May 2003, 4 weeks).

I work currently at university of Bergen as well

where I teach Calculus and its applications for

1. year students. There is 280 students who take the course.

I am extern member of examination committee of Bodø University and

course coordinator for Mathematical Methods for 1. year students at Bergen University College.

My kind parents and two wonderful brothers live in a beautiful town, Kiama, in New South Wales. My younger brother has accomplished his degree as pharmacist from Charles Sturt University. I hope that I can join them someday.

I play football twice a week and swim 3-4 times a week. The best time of my life in this world is to be with my nephews, brothers and my parents.
