In the beginning of time all was chaos. The world was shaped as an egg, and housed Yin and Yang. These are the opposing forces which the whole universe is made of. When the two had fought long enough, the egg exploded. The heavy mass sunk and became the earth, the light rose and became the heavens.

The first human was Pangu, and resided midway between heaven and earth. Finally he became so tired of keeping the two halves apart that he died. From his body all land and humans came.
