In the beginning there were two twin brothers, Ahura Mazda living in the light while Ahriman dwelled in the darkness. Ahura created time, and the world began. The world was good, and his daughter was Love. From light he created the first human; Gayomart.

He became the first Priest of the Fire, Keeper of the Flame. When Ahriman saw this, he became enraged and envious. He emerged from the darkness with his demons and bore disease, hunger and death into the world. Ahura saw that it was dangerous to have Ahriman on the loose, so he snared him within his own creations. Therefore evil is kept in the world, and shall stay with us to the end of time.
