The father who devours his own

Greek myths tells of the beginning Chaos, the gaping bottomless pit. From this Gaia rose Gaia and Uranus; Earth and the heavens. These had 12 children together.
Gaia got angry with Uranus, and asked Chronos to kill his father. Chronos led the Titans in an attack on their father and wounded him grievously.

Chronos married his sister Rhea and had many children. But he remembered what he had done to his own father, and ate all his children, one after the other. But when Rhea bore Zeus she managed to hide him from the father's eyes. Later Zeus used his lightning bolts against Chronos and the other Titans, and they were hurled into the abyss.
